When it comes to my favorite bridal products that I keep in my kit, it’s hard to narrow it down to just 5. As a professional makeup artist for the last 8 years, I have been fortunate enough to test and try so many different brands, products and formulas. Despite it all, there are some products I just can’t live without and have stood the test of time.
Back in my days working at MAC, I used to sell this to nearly every single one of my customers. This is a skin prep ESSENTIAL. It’s a toner and moisturizer in one that balances out the pH levels of the skin while infusing it with hydration and brightness thanks to the magical ingredients coral grass and vitamin C.
Oh how much I love this foundation. I’ve been searching for a foundation that gives the perfect healthy glow to the skin that’s sheer enough to look like skin, but with enough coverage to even out the skin tone. This foundation does exactly that. Think a glowy, lightweight, second skin when you apply this (bonus: it’s waterproof). It can be built up to fuller coverage if you do small light layers, but I prefer one nice layer on top of freshly hydrated skin for that perfect wedding day glow.
When my clients ask for mascara recommendations, I always say the same thing: there are so many affordable options on the market like L’Oreal Voluminous BUT, if you’re looking to splurge I have the perfect mascara for you. Once upon a time I worked for Chanel and fell head over heels in love with this mascara. It’s the perfect consistency, goes on smooth and even, gives the lashes SO much volume (hence the name) and stays but all day. The brush is the key to this mascara too. It individually coats every single lash. I get more compliments on my lashes when I wear this mascara then any other. Definitely an investment but so worth it!
My go to bridal eyeshadow shade. Not only can you apply this dry, but spray your brush with a bit of Fix + and dip into this shade for a super pigmented finish. It’s the perfect rose gold hue that works well with all skin shades. I’ve love this formula for such a long time and always know my bride’s eyeshadow look will pop just right when I throw on this shade.
Back in 2013, I flew to Los Angeles to complete a 1 week makeup artistry course at Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy. This was the kickstart of my makeup career. Even though the class only allowed me to play around with Napoleon Perdis products, it certainly gave me an amazing base of knowledge. I even found a few amazing products I still keep in my kit today. This primer is my favorite. The Auto Pilot Primer feels like a luxurious bath for your skin. I love it for all skin type, but mostly for my mature skin clients. It’s infused with chamomile extract and vitamin e to smooth and strengthen the skin. It works amazing under foundation and will keep your makeup look lasting all day and night long.
